De kulturmärkta funkislokalerna har omvandlats från industriloka History. Konstfack has had several different names since it was founded in 1844 by the ethnologist and artist Nils Månsson Mandelgren as a part-time art school for artisans, under the name "Söndags-Rit-skola för Handtverkare" ("Sunday Drawing School for Artisans"). Design methods at Konstfack’s Industrial Design programme are based on a mindset of empathy, curiosity, inclusiveness and care. We look at a product’s lifecycle and beyond: how it affects people, society and the environment. At the same time, our changing world inspires students to raise norm critical questions and to design in response. If the Student Union board is the heart, the members are the blood. The union is for its members and without the support and commitment of its members, the board cannot work for changes at Konstfack and create a better community across institution borders.
